How an issue is put together
Each month, every material in the rate library is checked against live supplier listings. Where a listing is found, the rate is updated from it; where it cannot be verified, the previous rate is carried forward and marked as carried, so you can see how much of the library is fresh. The issue then reports the largest movements in each direction and explains what they mean for the packages in a bill you might be pricing now.
The rates are estimating benchmarks. They are useful for checking a quote, building a budget or testing a bill, but they are not a substitute for quotations on a specific project, where delivery, quantity and timing all change the price. Subscribers receive the rate workbook with each issue.
Every issue is published here in full as well as emailed. Rates are estimating benchmarks built from supplier listings and the ASAQS method — verify against project quotations before any tender award. How we handle your address.
